If It Ain't Baroque

Don't fix it. So we repeated having dinner here.
A quiet moment here before the theater.
And once again it was a wonderful evening.
Notice all the curls and swirls at every stop?

Except for Gaston, who'd be obnoxious IRL but hilarious in the show. Well ... maybe his rippling biceps fit the theme too.
There were quite a few dressed as Belle in the audience.
But I wore my trousers in fabric fit for lavish drapes or upholstery.
And though we gave a standing ovation, we were suprised the cast didn't appear for a curtain call (slaps knee for Gigi).

So how goes it, has the first week of 2014 been a beauty or a beast?

  1. oh you look divine!

not take a curtain call? poor form, I say!

so far it is a beauty work-wise and health-wise, but some withdrawal pains from some habits I am breaking but am committed to breaking!

    1. It was opening night and there were a couple minor mishaps so maybe they didn't want to push it, but the performance was thoroughly enjoyable.

Habits are always difficult to break, have you ever found that 21 days rule to work? Good to hear work and health are beauties, good luck on the habits to break!

  3. Looks like fun. My 3 year old son is into the theatre at the moment. We recently went to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and now he's trying to convince me to fly to Sydney for the Lion King. I think he might have twisted my arm. He's been singing the songs, and it's pretty darn cute.

I'd bet he is adorable singing the songs!

  4. Did blogger eat my comment? not sure?...Love the first pic - I wish I could get away with different trousers but even black is a hard sell. Havent seen that show yet - just wondering if it is local or you go to LA for shows?

    1. Trousers are just about all I wear so crazy ones make me believe I'm changing it up some, but I do get carried away. That show came to town, we get overshadowed by LA but we are the eighth largest city in the U.S.

If you wrote more than what you see here than I'm afraid blogger ate it ...

  6. Love the outfit - you do fit the theming so well! I'm pretty sure once this production finally makes its way down to us, I'll be off to see it with my 5 year old daughter. She is quite fond of a fairy tale...! xx

    1. Thanks, Heidi! Well I've never read the book or seen the movie but this fairy tale is charming and very well done. I hope your theater has enough booster seats for all the little ones. Enjoy!

  17. Beautiful outfit! Sounds like a fun evening.

We went to see this years ago when DD2 was 3 at the Palace on Broadway, Saturday matinee, all gussied up for play then dinner. When Gaston tumbled off the balcony and the actions stops, music ceases, grand theater is silent, little one pulls her thumb out of her mouth and in a clear voice says, "He's gone!" Entire balcony giggles.

    1. Hello Jane and Lance! I hope you were not too disappointed I went missing, you got to my humble blog during a bumpy time. You're so right the blogosphere is a wonderous world indeed. I'm more than delighted by your visit.

I don't wear a skirt as stylishly as you do, Jane, it's the lazy part of me who pulls on trousers almost every day. I especially love that pic of you on The Grand Canal.

I'll be clicking away soon as I catch up from being away. I need to go thank Fanny Love for the introduction ...
