Don't fix it. So we repeated having dinner here.
And once again it was a wonderful evening.
Notice all the curls and swirls at every stop?
Except for Gaston, who'd be obnoxious IRL but hilarious in the show. Well ... maybe his rippling biceps fit the theme too.
There were quite a few dressed as Belle in the audience.
But I wore my trousers in fabric fit for lavish drapes or upholstery.
And though we gave a standing ovation, we were suprised the cast didn't appear for a curtain call (slaps knee for Gigi).
So how goes it, has the first week of 2014 been a beauty or a beast?
oh you look divine!
ReplyDeletenot take a curtain call? poor form, I say!
so far it is a beauty work-wise and health-wise, but some withdrawal pains from some habits I am breaking but am committed to breaking!
ps - love those shoes!
ReplyDeleteIt was opening night and there were a couple minor mishaps so maybe they didn't want to push it, but the performance was thoroughly enjoyable.
DeleteHabits are always difficult to break, have you ever found that 21 days rule to work? Good to hear work and health are beauties, good luck on the habits to break!
Looks like fun. My 3 year old son is into the theatre at the moment. We recently went to see Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and now he's trying to convince me to fly to Sydney for the Lion King. I think he might have twisted my arm. He's been singing the songs, and it's pretty darn cute.
ReplyDeleteI hear Lion King is amazing and that would be a fun trip.
DeleteI'd bet he is adorable singing the songs!
Did blogger eat my comment? not sure?...Love the first pic - I wish I could get away with different trousers but even black is a hard sell. Havent seen that show yet - just wondering if it is local or you go to LA for shows?
ReplyDeleteTrousers are just about all I wear so crazy ones make me believe I'm changing it up some, but I do get carried away. That show came to town, we get overshadowed by LA but we are the eighth largest city in the U.S.
DeleteIf you wrote more than what you see here than I'm afraid blogger ate it ...
You rococo chameleon! I love how you dressed in perfect harmony with your surroundings, well played Tiff!
ReplyDeleteHaha, Tabs, you totally got me! I like to dress the part. ;)
DeleteLove the outfit - you do fit the theming so well! I'm pretty sure once this production finally makes its way down to us, I'll be off to see it with my 5 year old daughter. She is quite fond of a fairy tale...! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks, Heidi! Well I've never read the book or seen the movie but this fairy tale is charming and very well done. I hope your theater has enough booster seats for all the little ones. Enjoy!
DeleteLove the outfit, so perfect for the event!! It looks like such a fun evening. Beauty and the Beast is one of my favourite Disney animated movies.
ReplyDeleteIt was a wonderful time. I hope you get a chance to experience the Broadway show if that's one of your favorites!
DeleteAnother fan of your outfit right here, it's perfect, I love those pastels. Dinner and theatre is my favourite day out!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dani! So far we haven't found a flaw to the dinner and theater combination, it's a pretty darned good way of spending an evening. And good reason to dress up some.
DeleteGorgeous outfit. A sleek and modern Marie Antoinette!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jen! I see you have French on your mind ... ;)
DeleteGreat outfit - sounds like you and the fam had a great time!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Lisa. It was fabulous indeed!
DeleteYour trousers are a perfect fit for the event, the whole outfit really shines (wink). I can't wait for family outings like these!
ReplyDeleteThe relaxed pace of the holidays is a distant memory already. I'm racing to get the 2014 kickoff activities finished and train my replacement at the same time. I'm sure I will miss these busy work days in a few months time!
Just like after a vacation, isn't it amazing how quickly everything goes back to full speed at work?
DeleteThanks, xoxo, this was definitely a wink outfit. Oh I can't wait to hear about your family outings ... so exciting!
You look fabulous, gorgeous tones, perfect trou and top. Yes modern day Antoinette! Agree, if something works do again and again. I wear an outfit every day for a week even
ReplyDeleteThanks, Jody, though I felt a little bit like Scarlett or Maria and the kids wearing clothing made from curtains.
DeleteRighto, why fix the unbroken!
DivOON!
ReplyDeleteand belated Happy New Year!
Oh thank you fred! and happy happy to you!!
DeleteI love those Baroque pants, especially with the sweater. You blend in perfectly with your environment! It looks like you had an enchanting evening of dinner and theater.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it funny, crazy pants to blend in! ;) I always look forward to the theater dates and they repeatedly please.
DeleteFabulous. As always, I am uplifted with admiration at your themed outfits!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Philippa! :)
DeleteBravo! Accent pillows everywhere will now dream of becoming trousers as I'm sure Crazy Old Maurice would agree.
ReplyDeleteHa! Suppose an accent pillow would be what I'd become if I had been in that castle when the spell was cast.
DeleteBeautiful outfit! Sounds like a fun evening.
ReplyDeleteWe went to see this years ago when DD2 was 3 at the Palace on Broadway, Saturday matinee, all gussied up for play then dinner. When Gaston tumbled off the balcony and the actions stops, music ceases, grand theater is silent, little one pulls her thumb out of her mouth and in a clear voice says, "He's gone!" Entire balcony giggles.
From the mouths of babes ... oh how funny and adorable. Matinees are great, flipping the order but just as wonderful. Gussied up, love that.
DeleteLove that outfit!!!!! Fabulous!!
ReplyDeleteThanks! And it was a good surprise to see you posting!
DeleteKnee slapping, indeed! I love it. I love all of it. I haven't seen the show. I love the little girls in Belle costumes, in the audience. Your outfit is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteIt was all good fun and great times, gigi. I wonder how MiniG would like it and would she be dressed as Belle? And thanks!
Deletesuch a lovely photos
