April in Paris

Natch, that'd be a good reason for falling off the grid if I was on holiday the entire month but nope. I was merely overcome by life.
So let's just have a dress-up salute to one of our very favorite cities.
And I just realized it was about 4 years ago when I first met

The sweatshirt is the color of sweet butter. It was in Paris where I fell in love with the stuff. Now I have bread as an excuse to eat butter.
This is the French print popover. I had sworn off popovers ...
unless it's an irresistible print. Oh well.
The ballet flats are to keep the theme but I am definitely swearing off these J.Crew ballet flats, the horrible hurtful things
are all wrong for my feet. Never again.
If I said the color of these trousers was Paris pink would you believe me? It's really iced quartz but in keeping with the theme ...
The girls' tee (size 14) is too young for me but I had to have it.
Fun with these brogue shoes from yoox.
More love for Paris via a linen T-shirt and trying to be
oh so cool with the jacket. Ha.
Tomorrow is May Day and I will be asking an SOS to survive it.
Not only will it be HOT but the low humidity and strong winds make for unfortunate wildfire conditions.

Did you know the Mayday distress signal may be derived from the French expression "m'aidez" meaning "help me?"

As my friend Wendy (who also loves Paris) says: stay safe out there!

  1. Hello Tiffany,

Ah, gay Paris! One does associate the city with stylish chic. Budapest is often referred to as the 'Paris of the East' but there is much more of the shabby than the chic here! Still, that us how we like it.

Your Parisienne trousers are wonderful. Such a fabulous colour and, teamed with the delicious shoes, this outfit could take one anywhere dressed up or down for the occasion. Perfect!

    1. Hello Jane and Lance,
I don't know much about Budapest but 'Paris of the East' with more of the shabby than the chic sounds like a place I'd like to be, might the pink trousers work for one thing or another there? Or would Budapest blue be even better?

  2. There you are! I was wondering where you'd gone just last week, hope life is a little bit overwhelming now. Ah feet, I think I am going to have to bind mine in rubber bandages, everything aside from trainers hurts my feet, and that look isn't me.
Your colours are lovely here, one big delectable ice cream sundae.

    1. Hello Tabitha! Life is as bustling as ever but one thing I can't do too much are the late nights blogging, the bump to the noggin got in the way of that. Comfy shoes are a priority more and more so, I can't see good reasons for suffering with each step. Ah, the ice cream would be wonderful next week when we're in the 90s again. Come visit and remind me why it's better than the cold!

  3. You made me smile Nd then go back and visit Dani's post ( I was a mere lurker then!)

I love your outfits! There is no place I love more than Paris, I don't think! 94! Incroyable! There is still lots of snow here, though yesterday it made it to 60, which felt balmy! I really must finish my spring cleaning as all of a sudden I am going to have a lot of housework! Have a wonderful Tiffany sparkle day!

    1. Well, you always make me smile, Wendy! It's been decades but isn't Paris the best? Oh I wish we could split the difference, we're looking at high 90s next week, it is crazy and not at all usual for us. Snow, imagine that!

    1. Hello beautiful babe, thanks. There are ballet flats that are good as I've come to find from that place yoox, I'll post. We were OK from fires but 800 acres burned about 100 miles from us. :(

  5. Ok, trying a third time, Blogger keeps eating my post. Well, I'm still happy to see you! And I was smiling as I read, because I just bought me some pink pants, well. Seven pairs, in fact, due to shipping worries and website crashes, so there will be a lot of returning to do when I get home. And I too have abjured flat shoes, oh, the agony! Even my rubber flipflops have a wedge. And I finally caved and bought the popover, although some of the tiny sketches puzzle me.

    1. Oh, no, WFF, so sorry. I am coming over to check your tale of seven pairs of pink pants ... As for the sketches on that popover, do you mean the scribble next to some of the Eiffel tower looking like a discarded cigar or rolled up newspaper? That one had me squinting hard but might it be an attempt at the Charles de Gaulle airport?

  6. Thank you for the link love and I have to say it was fun to go back and look at that post, ah Paris! I have those exact pink pants, love the way you've styled them with the white shirt and those flats. So pretty.
It's great to see you, and wow what a scorcher, stay cool.

    1. It's great to see you, Dani! And going back to visit was fun too as is remembering the charm of Paris. I'm looking forward to seeing how you'll wear your pink pantaloons, I'm certain you look gorgeous in them.

  7. Hello again. Looking adorable as always! We're having hot weather here today too. It was 65 last week, yesterday it was 93! Weird and sudden. I love the look of ballet flats, but they cut into my bunion, so are a sad no for me too. I've always found JCrew shoes uncomfortable. Stay cool out there :)

    1. Hello Jennifer. Weird and sudden is right you are. Today it was 65 and in a week it is expected to be 101! Makes me very worried ...

Me too about the ballet flats, they cut into my feet in the worst way! But I learned not all ballet flats are equal, I'm just about all done with JCrew shoes and definitely their ballet flats.

  9. You have such a great silhouette, in pink pantaloons or butter-coloured jeans.

For my part I hope life stops overwhelming you. I miss your posts.

  11. I love your Paris tee look. Even though I have that one, I got the muscle tee, too. Couldn't resist it. I knew those ballet flats would offer no support. You're looking great!

    1. Thanks, gigi! I might cave and get the muscle tee too, you did a great review on it. The ballet flats ... agh ... it's not so much the support I need, but the JC ones are so bare they are cut narrow to stay on one's feet, much too narrow in certain spots for me. Done and done on them.

  14. Glad to see your pretty outfits back on display! I am with you on the popovers. I wish they'd just make regular shirts. If I want a popover, I can always button a few buttons and pull it on over my head.

    1. Ha, that's funny Shopping Celle! At least it makes shopping easier when I dismiss all the popovers. I hate pulling non-knit things over my head, I keep thinking one of these days I'll be too old to get dressed that way. ;)
