Saturday Commentary

Like a secret handshake,
this will be our signal when we all meet up.
While I think most bulldogs are awfully cute,
how did this T-shirt sell for $61.50?
Do the people who got this
really use it as a beach blanket?
Somebody forgot her vowels.

  1. Touche' and too funny. Never did see the towel before. If I could afford a towel that price I sure would not be buying my clothes at J Crew...everything would be tailor made for me.

    1. Ain't that the truth. And though I may act differently if I was ever that filthy rich, I still can't think of why I'd have a $1,500 beach blanket.

  2. I saw the towel and thought that cashmere was an odd choice for a beach towel, considering you'd want to wash it after every use and it would probably pick up a lot of sand. People are probably using it as a throw but there are much prettier ones around in that price range.

    1. Yep, even ignoring the price, cashmere is not a good mix with sunscreen and sand.

  3. Vey observant. On what planet is a cashmere towel used at the beach?? I knew I was losing my patience with J Crew. Their quality is suffering and so is their logic. Now the bulldog T shirt is a different story...

    1. I'd like to know too, wondering if somebody really is using it per the item name. Maybe they're after the weird ideas for buzz.

  4. The bulldog tee is adorable, I love bulldogs. But over $60? That's an awful lot for a tee.

    1. I have a different bulldog T and also a sweater. Combined, they don't add up to $60 and they are both much cuter than this one.

  5. I have the bulldog tee, got it at the outlet for $20-ish, nowhere near $60!

    1. Somebody was likely in error pricing that at $60 but it was online for months that way.

  6. still shaking head and clucking. went up to Target and bought a FEED tee, 100% cotton, no goofiness, and I believe what they're saying about the use of the proceeds.

  7. Haha! I love the secret signal!
I'm gobsmacked at the deftness of the cashmere beach towel and the price of the tee.
I did a ranty post about that blanket a while ago, too.
    J Crew are delusional sometimes....

  8. That should be 'daftness' not 'deftness'

    1. Can't you see a bunch of us "recognizing" each other by the jackets carried on our heads? ;)

That's OK, I had to go look up daftness ... perfect comment for that cashmere towel.

  9. The bulldog tee is so cute, but $61.50 for a factory tee? Really?
