December Dither

With more couth I would've worn this outfit for Thanksgiving:
the Collection café capri in antiqued floral, a cambridge crewneck from 2008 and the antique gold mary jane heels so wonderful I no longer pine for the spencer patent trimmed crackle metallic mary janes
I think the antique floral print is rich and splendid. The fabric, 76% silk and 33% cotton, is quite substantial. It feels like two layers woven together. Could very well be since the reverse side barely shows any print show-through and has a different texture.
Highly recommended if you like crazy fancy pants.
Showing the shoes snapped up from Yoox but they are no more there.
Is it wrong to be in love with a pair of shoes?
As threatened promised, here's what I wore for Thanksgiving:
This year's was a wonderful confluence of Thanksgiving and Hanukkah that I was completely unaware of since I'd been buried in work.
But look what we saw as we're fixin' the candied yams.
Is this one of those signs Jody talked about?
What the weatherman tells us for today.
And what it looks like.
But I'll be planning and packing for a week-long trip to places where the weather is difficult for me to imagine.
This (washable? faux fur) is likely the foundation for my trip.
With apologies in advance to ruth, Naomi, Heidi and anyone else I will likely offend, I will likely wear this on travel days:
With any luck, I may see some ...
That's a surprise snow storm the last time I visited my dad.
Spending time with him will be the very best part of my trip. :)

Stay safe and warm and don't let the stresses take over.
Let me know what you're up to and I'll try to keep up.
See y'all in about a week.

  1. Have wonderful time with your dad. Just remember to spray your uggs before you venture out in snowy weather. Have not worn overalls since I worked at Skeeters in college…they are so comfortable.

    1. Hi BB, I'm back from my hiatus from my bloggy buddies!

Not only do I wear my uggs out and about, they are pretty trashed, I'm afraid. The silver lining is I don't have to worry if it's snowing or raining or muddy or whatever ... ;)

  2. There's a NY superstition hat it's always sunny on Jewish holidays. Thanksgivukkah was cold and bright. The superstition developed among the members of the police force who had to work parade duty on cold rainy days in March and cloudy days in November. If you mention this to someone who actually celebrates, say, Hanukkah, it will not be denied. If you mention it to a NY Irishman, he'll tell you how it poured last St Pat's day, well, that's the luck of the Irish.

    1. LOL, WFF, the luck of the Irish. If I recall, Thanksgivukkah was pretty nice here, I'm certain it was sunny.

  5. Love your outfit for thanksgivukkah. Festive cheer for sure!

Yes that is fancy pants fancy pants for sure - i do like things reversible almost.

I am almost thinking of getting a pair because the people who wear them always say how comfy they are. Never tried them one if being honest. I may never come back from it...
It is barely 75F in the summer here...

    1. I had never tried the overalls until Thanksgiving last year and as you can see I'm finding excuses they become a tradition. They are comfy indeed. And I think practical, good for peeling yams and potatoes, chopping apples and stirring gravy. No need to loosen the belt for that second helping either.

  6. Tiffany Rose - I wore my uggs out last week and loved them!

    1. Thanks for your nice words about my fancy pants outfit. Did any of yours survive the purge?

I figured the uggs have hard soles and are meant to be out. Don't you love the super warm and cozy and comfy? Like the overalls, it's hard to go back ...

  8. The print on the pants is exquisite and perfectly paired with the metallic gold shoes. It's never wrong to love shoes, they love us back I believe. Don't forget a cozy scarf or pashmina for your trip. I find a wrap is always a nice comfort on the plane when traveling to cooler climes.

Thank you for sharing your lovely winter weather. We are in the midst of our 4th snowstorm of the season and temperatures are going to drop to a ridiculously bone-chilling -33C/-27F and I will not be leaving the house if I can help it. Safe travels Tiffany Rose.

    1. You made me laugh but I think you're right, the shoes love us back. I always take a scarf on trips, I agree it's lovely comfort on the plane.

I worried about your winter weather and hope you and yours are doing well withstanding it. It is 39F right now (quite unusual for us) and we are bundled up and complaining ;)

Thanks, xoxo, the travels were good except for my return trip that almost doubled in time. But safely so that is most important.

  11. Hi! Love your blog! Just thought you may want to know that someone as used one of your pictures for an Ebay listing. They've pulled photos from other bloggers too but only yours was instantly recognizable for me. http://www.ebay.com/itm/NWT-118-J-Crew-Boy-Shirt-in-Beaded-Chambray-6-Women-Jeweled-Chambray-Shirt-Top-/291023957753?pt=US_CSA_WC_Shirts_Tops&hash=item43c2612ef9

    1. Hi Anon, thank you! Hmm, not sure what I can do about someone using my photos or how I feel about that, it's a tiny bit flattering and creepy at the same time. I probably have no real recourse ... guess that's why some put watermarks on pics or add a copyright statement.

  12. Hi Tiffany Rose! I have been eyeing those antique floral capris for awhile now. How did you find the fit compared to your other cafe capris?
The thanksgiving overalls are so cute with the sequin top. I would look ridiculous but you look adorable and best of all, there is plenty of room for the food baby!

    1. Hi Shopping Celle, sorry I've been away and without the electronics. I thought these capris a nice fit, a few of the cafe capris are so tiny I've had to go to size 0 (these are 00). Some are too roomy but there are no smaller size for me to size down. These are, as goldilocks would say, just right. They fit me nicely without pulling in the hip area. But I suppose it depends whether you have hips or waist or whatever since every body is different. Am I saying anything helpful? ;)

Yep, the best thing about the Thanksgiving overalls is no need to wonder if you'll bust out of your waistband with the second helping or dessert!

  15. Pretty pretty top outfit, am loving that soft pink with the floral trousers, love everything about it. Agree with you about the shoes, they have a wonderful sense of dance shoes about them and add a completely different vibe to the outfit as opposed to say pumps. That faux fur jacket is so snuggly bear.

    1. Thanks, Jody, that outfit is one of my favorites too. I love mary janes because I can go up a half size for my wide feet and still keep the shoes on my feet with the straps. Though these shoes fit perfectly and why I have so much love for them. The faux fur coat was as warm and snuggly as a blankie on my trip.
