Sorry if anybody's retina burned.
I should have warned you to wear shades for this post.
The lovely Tweed and Toile received a few barbs
when she wore orange and red together to work.
So what about orange and hot pink?
Would you wear this combination?
Or should the question be would you wear a large question mark?
Completely sequined no less.
As for the the café capri in ultra eyelet, I love, love, love them.
Eyelet is pretty and feminine without being lacey dressy.
And the perfect fabric for keeping fresh and cool.
It's in one of my most favorite colors.
The cut is comfortably slender.
The length is good with heels or flats.
A graphic tee or floral cami or chambray shirt or linen sweater
and maybe with a cardi or blazer or denim jacket
could make it appropriate for most any occasion.
The only thing slightly annoying and worrisome ...
my pinky has an inadvertent tendency to poke through
the openings of the cutout pattern.
I hope I'm not going fast should something latch on as I'm going by.
I couldn't wear this outfit but I don't have similar items in my closet even if I wanted to try. I do have a couple of neon azalea tops that I have been wearing but pairing them with neutrals or pastels. I'm not very brave when it comes to brights.
ReplyDeleteI've always liked bright pink but orange is new for me to wear and an inexpensive Crewcuts tee is an easy way.
DeleteI'm laughing about what reactions I will get from my colleagues!
Would I? In a heartbeat. I LOVE this outfit- it is perfect - bright and cheerful and super flattering.
ReplyDeleteOh, and I don't care what others think- theer si so much stigma attached to colro combos- no navy with browns, no orange with red- phew- whatever rocks your boat.:))
ReplyDeleteThanks Slastena! I agree about not caring too much about what others think. YOU put colors together and wear them so well!
DeleteI think it looks adorable...but you already knew that! :o) BTW, thanks for the "shout-out"!
ReplyDeleteThanks My4Boys! And thanks for letting me share your color encounter. ;)
DeleteYou look adorable. If I could pull off those pants I'd wear them everyday! I love 'em.
ReplyDeleteOh thanks!!! Many, many years ago, I owned a pair of white eyelet pants from J.Crew and I think I wore them every few days all summer for at least a couple of years. Guess they've come back to my life in neon pink!
DeleteHow do these fit compared to the Foulard capris? These are gorgeous by the way.
ReplyDeleteThanks, they are pretty pants!
DeleteI thought I remember them fitting the same as the foulard capris but I just tried them both on again and measured them. They fit about the same around the waist and hips. The foulard seems to be slightly longer and has a 1/2" lower front rise but slightly higher back rise. The foulard is definitely narrower, the pant opening is about 12" as opposed to 13" for the ultra eyelet. Keep in mind the foulard has 2% stretch while the eyelet is 100% cotton.
I love bold color pairings - the pink and orange are punchy and fun!
ReplyDeleteYep! And there are times when I enjoy being a little crazy!
DeleteI wouldn't do the top, for me personally. It would bring attention to the fact that if my head weren't attached, I'd be in trouble. Love the pants. That eyelet pattern looks great. Bright color is fun, too.
ReplyDeleteThe top is definitely goofy. Do the pants qualify as crazy pants?
DeleteI'll likely next wear the neon pink eyelet pants with something more neutral. ;)
I used to have an orange and pink striped top eons ago, so yes, I would, and already did wear this combo! I love eyelet too!
ReplyDeleteYou were way ahead of us, Rose!
DeleteEyelet always remind me of pretty summer days ... they will be upon us soon.
OMG! I missed this post! I LOVE the Cafe capri in ultra eyelet, sold out so quickly! It looks gorgeous on you! Is it TTS? I wish I could grab it on pop back :-)
ReplyDeleteLovely outfit!
Xo
Hi Andrea! I snatched up the eyelet capri as soon as it went to sale; I've missed my eyelet pants from J.Crew for decades ... yes, decades! I hope you can get them. ;)
DeleteAnd yes, I think they are TTS.
