Weight Aweigh

Those are navy Valentinas.
How about I just ramble on what comes to mind? Or not say too much at all? Because if I tried to make this post go someplace I may never get it published and I kind of promised I'd post the pics. And time is of the essence with the 40% off OURTREAT promo expiring tomorrow today in case the info and photos help somebody.

This is the anchors aweigh pant. They feel like jammies and probably look a bit like jammies. I thought they'd be good for very casual wear, wonderful for vacations and not for the office. But for you, my bloggy friends, I wore them to work today. Verdict:  love. They are super soft and comfortable and nobody made a smart alec comment about PJs at the workplace.

The fabric is a sumptuous, velvety silk. You can maybe see they are unstructured. And! The material seems to float away from whatever is going on underneath so not only didn't I worry about VPLs and tucking in the tee and Tippi sweater, I'd choose them for serious chow-down occasions, especially with the elastic and drawstring waist that's comfy comfy. Like I said, they'd be wonderful for vacations.

Here's another pic to better show the pockets and tie waist. Like I said, lounge pajamas. ;)

I'm going on to this pic taken maybe a month ago. Wearing girls' colorblock cardigan and café capri in geranium lace. For pants of lace and a pretty color, I'm so-so about them, though I get compliments each time I've worn them.

I can't think of anything else to say ... at least for now. It could be because I'm in desperate need of some sleep. Or I'm distracted by all the work projects weighing constantly on my mind.

Tomorrow is the deadline I've set for myself to write 400 words to make a compelling article. I'll be happy/relieved/less panic-stricken once I do.

Wish me a clever wordsmith.

  1. May the wordy muse be with you!

The navy trousers are really lovely with the Valentinas, that's the highest I want to go in heels now, I'm so over the forward hobble.

    1. Thanks, Tabitha. The muse was with me for part of the day. Most important, I've figured out the approach so it's a matter of finishing up now. I hope.

  2. I think both look great on you - you have the perfect figure for these trousers!

I am with Tabitha on heel height - no more high heels for me!

    1. Oh thank you, WMM.

There was a time when I swore off anything higher than 2.5 inches.

  4. I love the Valentinas. Totally agree with Tabitha and WMM on heel height. That is it for me! the Valentinas are perfection! On the girl's sweater - what size is it? What size do you wear in J Crew?? I've never thought about looking at the kids stuff, but that sweater you have looks great!

    1. The valentinas are a good height. I wish they'd made them with leather soles so they are even more comfortable.

The cardi is a girls' size 14. I wear 00 or 0P in women's. I've found girls' things can work, they may be roomier in the body but could be tight around the shoulders or armhole so I will order the 14 even if I can fit into the 12. The length can be a problem and also why I get the larger size.

  6. I too have the geranium lace pants and when I wear them, get compliments but I'm not wearing them enough like I thought so with that said, I've slowed my printed pant purchase/wish list out. I think I am more prints on top than bottom. Anyway, I love both looks on you!

    1. I hope I've slowed my printed pant purchases also! I used to be more prints on top too but now I am both. :(

Thanks and thanks for coming by!

  8. Both are so cute. Totally agree w/your review of the anchor pants. If someone gets them & feels they are not worthy of the outdoors, they wil still make a comfy pair of pjs.

Hope you can take a nap and get to writing tonite when the world has quieted down. Or go to bed early and get up early. The world is still quiet at 4 am and that's when the words flow. At least for me. Good luck!

    1. Thanks so much gigi! I can totally see falling asleep in the anchor pants. And on those days when you want something cool and unrestricting, they would be it.

I am a night owl but I cannot write in the middle of the night. Tomorrow, I'm pulling out all the stops and will play Mozart violin concertos while I do some serious writing.

  10. Thanks, Louise! Navy and yellow and white play well together, I've learned from others. And there will be other good shopping temptations, I'm certain.
