Head-Turning Prints

Café capri in kerchief paisley

And you know I love me some loud pants. But!

Even I don't think I can do this.

What say you?

  1. I am HORRIFIED by the return of this style of clothing. I remember men in the early 90s enjoying the trend of soft silk shirts in garish paisley patterns.

Paisley IS AWESOME, but sometimes, and some ways, it can look awful.

Reminder is above. I could do the html coding for hyperlinks, but that would make seeing the horror that much easier.

  3. Dina, is that an old ad or a new one? I can't even tell. LOL

OK Tiffany Rose, I won't be gentle on this one! Those pants are hideous. They look like the old school body-builder pants or something you would see at a senior's center. Donate the money directly to goodwill instead.

    1. Yes indeedy. $495 to a good cause is a much better way to go.

  5. That is a vintage ad. Oh, yeah, baby. The 90s are back. Eek.

    1. Oh baby baby baby! Better than the 70s when you had wild prints on slimy polyester shirts.

  7. Did you zoom in on the model photo? Good chuckle to be had. :)

  8. Dina - that ad is AWSOME! Oh my gosh it's AWFUL. Let's make it easier to share. Muahahahaha.

  9. I like some patterns, but I can't do this one. Eeek!

  10. LOVED that ad! I really can't believe they made those pants. It's a pretty fabric, but not for pants! And yes, Dina's comment about the hyperlink totally made me copy and paste it. :)

  11. That ad has to be in the hall of something. Good thing I wasn't drinking something when I copied and pasted for a looksy!

  12. I like loud and a bit of garish in small doses, so the verdict is still out for me though i do tend to tire of it after a couple of wearings. As for Versace, a favorite. *hides*

    1. I like loud and a bit of garish too *hides* ;)

Like you, I wouldn't disregard these pants completely until I try/see them but at $495 it's a very long shot for me. Versace can be bold, striking and beautiful, nothing wrong with that.

  14. Hi Tiffany--kittywitty from Polyvore here...keep meaning to tell you I'm really enjoying your blog! I'm glad you posted about these pants and asked for feedback b/c I've been dying to ask if anyone has noticed the *ahem* crotch area of these pants?! I'm sure everyone has and just hasn't mentioned it, so I will! LOL It looks like 2 sad eyes and an open mouth right "you know where." WTF? You can't tell me J Crew didn't notice that?! It's the very first thing I noticed when I saw them on the model. Maybe I have issues LOL...but it's there and is what makes the pants so awful IMHO. Thanks, J Crew but I don't need a "munchy" face on the front of my pants--and certainly not for $500!! :P

    1. Hey kittywitty! So nice of you to visit here and welcome and thank you :).

So how do you score when you take those inkblot tests?

Seriously though, I think *aheam* that's what Rose was talking about. It certainly is what I noticed when I zoomed, LOL. NO! We don't need that there. I'm thinking many things but you said it all. :P

  15. I reread my message and I'm thinking that drinking wine while perusing blogs is NOT a good idea! LOL Some things are better left unsaid (like Rose did so tastefully). Ack...oh, well. Maybe I ought to seek out one of those inkblot tests. :D

    1. I, for one, needed the strong reminder. ;) I told myself no after the zoom. But then forgot when I thought I'd reserve judgment until I try them myself. Arrgh!

  16. I love these pants!!! But I worry how practical they are and how much wear I'd get out of them.
(I'm not one of those people who can mix prints with more prints...)

    1. That's the downside of memorable prints. I'd be self conscious and think, there she goes, wearing the scarf print pants again. ;) I'd be out of ideas after a solid color shirt or tee ...
