Fall Pretense

It's going to cool off to a high of 85F tomorrow today.
At 1:05 p.m. today yesterday, it was 100F.
Not exactly autumn weather but I'm trying to fake it with some fall colors.
But of course you know these trousers are linen.
(Yes, more crazy pants I cannot help it.)
At least they don't look like I slept in them, the weight of the linen is heavy enough to keep them from getting too rumply.

With the lightweight (ahem, very lightweight and why pockets are so common on shirts)
gauzy shirt, it's a scheme from Out of Africa.
At least in my mind. And reminding me of WMM's post.

(Yes please, to Robert Redford washing my hair.)
Did you fall in love with RR like the Danish baroness and me?

P.S. I'm still loving these shoes and awfully tempted to get a second pair for backup since prices have fallen on summer styles here
(click on Designer and look for Chie Mihara).

    1. Hi WMM! It is warm for early October. As I was wearing my Chies the other day, a post was being written in my head about why they are so comfortable. I need to write it for real. ;) Yes you need to try them especially if you need room in the toe box.

  2. Just fabulous.Wow, it's really hot where you are. We are with a rainy and cool front, yesterday, we had a small flood and I ruined my shoes. I am in a desperate need of a pretty sunshine and autumnal crispiness.

    1. Oh no, Slastena, about your shoes! I hope they can be saved. I work with many in other places and I heard it was cool and rainy where you are, but that almost sounds better than the blazing heat that we have. However, looks like low to mid 80s are on their way. Don't you envy those who have that beautiful crisp air and lovely sunshine? My dad says he has that now and I might have to find another excuse to go across the country. ;)

    1. This is why my fashion always look out of sync, we are behind on our seasons! I can't imagine sweaters and boots yet for months ;( I resisted these pants for a long time reminding myself they are linen. But I'm glad I finally got them when the price dropped, they are comfortable and cool and rather crisp looking for linen. Thanks for coming by biscuits!

  4. We have a skiff of snow here this morning. It may melt by midday but it's going to be cold for a couple of days. i wore a puffer jacket out walking the dog yesterday. :^(

I didn't see the movie but no Robert Redford for me, I much prefer the Paul Newman type. Love your fall outfit, it makes does make me think safari.

    1. Would you believe wearing a puffer sounds rather inviting to me? I went out midday yesterday and even felt a slight burning sensation from the chain necklace.

Actually RR and PN never appealed to me but there are certain movies that make you say, now I understand all the swoon. My type was Mel Gibson before most knew who he was, he was beautiful in The Year of Living Dangerously.

    1. Wow, I can't believe it's 100 where you are too! Without the pockets, I'd have to wear a cami for sure, and almost did even with (but I was in a hurry). I got the shirt from Madewell on sale with % off, this color is now mostly sold out. I'll confess to the main reason I bought it ... it has that gauzy texture that says no ironing needed to me!

  6. Would look fab with a bright shirt or belt too. Yes to Robert Redford ( I have a penchant for strawberry blonde men) love how he's aged naturally rather than join the Botoxathon that is Hollywood men that age.

    1. Hi Jody, good idea and a bright shirt in a jewel tone and some brown shoes would make it more for fall. I didn't care for Robert Redford at first but he has aged beautifully, I so agree!
