Polka dots gone wild.
Faux fur trim gone wild.
(Umm ... don't think I want a big strip of furriness to add to my hipline.)
Metallic trend gone wild.
(I've met my match in crazy pants; I'm sure others can rock these but it won't be me.)
I try not to and I know it's not nice.
And I want to say please JC, watch how you place the pattern:
So to be fair, I think KS can miss too (see first 3 pics above).
And I'll jump in here with this:
All I can think of is: psychedelic shack, that's where it's at.
Psychedelic shack. That's where it's at.
I love that Kate Spade coat, my figure is actually at its best if I wear something big at the hip area, it makes me look hourglass when I'm really quite rulerish.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on patters that draw attention to the boob area, why do they do that?
Tabitha, you're one of the lucky ones with no worries about adding to the hips. Actually, the coat was borderline for the point of this post, it's looking better with passing time.
DeleteAs for the pattern that draws attention, I almost wonder if it's supposed to be witty but I don't get the joke.
Too funny! I want to go to that shack! I am with Tabs - no to boob area, find a way to make me look like I have a defined waist. Is that too much to ask???? Well, it probably is, but I still ask it!
ReplyDeleteOne line of the lyrics to that song: Don't really matter what you wear ;)
DeletePatterns can definitely shape a figure but targeting certain areas, no thank you.
Funny. Strategic pattern or print placement is really expensive to do correctly, and a disaster when done incorrectly. I love you're crazy pants but I think you've drawn your line in the sand in the perfect place. Gold Lame in all forms just frightens me.
ReplyDeleteGosh, at one point in my life I probably did gold lame ... horrors!!!
DeleteHahaha! I got those same capris too!
ReplyDeleteI think the capris are cute. I just pushed it by adding a heavily patterned shirt. Overdone. ;)
DeleteI was tired ... I meant heavily textured shirt. Yep too much going on.
DeleteLOL, this is funny. I really dislike that 70's J.Crew dress. It is hideous and was quite expensive if I recall correctly.
ReplyDeleteI admire your ability to style prints. I am challenged when it comes to patterns, except plaid and most paisleys. For some reason they seem to overwhelm me, even though I'm not small. Definitely avoid anything that draws attention to the bustline, I do not need any additional attention focused on that area.
Thanks, xoxo. I follow the "too much is not enough" thinking at times. Think the crazy pants would have been OK with a plain white or chambray shirt or solid color sweater.
DeleteThat dress is Collection and yes, quite expensive. I dislike it at any price.
I have a confession (and this is my bad taste Kiwi girl thing coming out) I ordered some silver pants thinking I would pair them with a chunky sweater hoping I could do a California by the beach fireside glitter with casual thing. Oh my gosh, I looked so disgusting in those pants, they showed every bobble of cellulite (and everytime I say that word, I add: "And I'll sell your lamp.")
ReplyDeleteOh I've been there and done that as we've all had the wardrobe fantasies. And yes, the "been there" was bad, I'm contemplating a Bloopers post if only I had foresight to document them.
DeleteAnd you know, I can picture silver pants with a chunky sweater California by the beach fireside glitter with casual thing ...
Hahaha! I have those pants too! :D Love them!
ReplyDeleteHi Rose! I love the pants, will try again this summer to not go psychedelic.
