When Too Much Might Be Too Much

Inspired by this look,
I piled on some vintage necklaces.
What do you think?

Don't worry, I did not go out and about like this.
It's only for you, my bloggie buddies. ;)

  1. You are too funny! I tried the big pile a while ago and like you, I discovered that too much was indeed too much!!! Having said that, it will be perfect for certain high holidays, such as the Oscars, Derby day and when Kate has her baby!

  2. I can't even get multiple bracelets to look right together, let alone necklaces, I am hopelessly plain. I think that's a good attempt!

  3. And your blogging buddies appreciate your attempts. I can't bear too much weight around my neck so I pile on bracelets.

    1. Oh good, I'm glad you're giving me credit for effort. But I can never get the pile of bracelets to look right either.

  4. It's always fun to experiment! I agree with others, the most I think I can ever pull off is multiple bracelets. I can never get the necklaces to lay right so the most I think I've ever achieved is two. You never know if you don't try though :)

    1. I'd never make it as a serious fashion blogger, is that what you're telling me? ;)

  6. It's not possible to see the scale and proportion with the rest of the outfit since the photo is cropped but I would say the multi-colored crystal necklace might take it over the top. What did you end up going with in the end?

    1. Surprisingly, husby kind of liked the look. The multicolored crystal necklace was definitely too much and this would have looked a lot better if I had some plain chains but it was the only thing of the right length I had at the time.

I ended up taking all these off and going with a short necklace with glass panels and a long pools of light necklace. It was a hot day and I was thinking of things that looked like ice or water.

  7. I like the pile up of necklaces - it would be perfect with a white Tshirt and jeans :)

    1. Thanks mommydearest, that multicolor necklace is out! I may give this another go.

  9. The top two work. I think the scale of your roses overpower those two, though. And then the 4th multicolored one belongs in another vignette. ;). Keep trying! I do. If I discover any secrets, I'll share. So far no luck for me.

    1. Me too, sharon. I seem to over do it or have just my basic earrings and wedding ring on.
