Hangdog

Though I have a dozen brilliant posts written by that
prolific writer who lives only in my head, IRL I am lazy.
Thus, I am resorting to pics from months ago,
when this adorable sad faced puppy won me over.
The baby bulldog sweater was my first and only
ModCloth venture and I don't regret it one little bit.
It was inexpensive, it's 100% cotton and
has a cute critter that makes one smile.
Could use one, working like a dog and a zillion hours last week.
OK not a zillion, but more than 60, including one night morning
when I didn't leave the office until 1 a.m.
Feeling as sick as a dog by then.
Tomorrow, I'll have to be in the office by 6 a.m.
It will be brutal.
I won't be a cheerful early bird.
I will be a grump dog.

  1. Very cute sweater indeed - love the expression on the dog's face!
Boo to your long hours and early starts. I hope you get a hefty bonus or some overtime?

    1. Hi ruth, don't you love that puppy's face? Yep, double boo on the awful hours and the beauty of being an exempt employee with no overtime pay.

    1. Hi WMM. It was a good project and I'm on to the next good project. They are all good, but they can get overwhelming, especially when more than one demand attention.

Isn't my dog a sad but sweet looking thing?

  3. Cute sweater. Your doggie looks tired too.

Nice to know I'm in good company with many posts in my head that never hit the screen. At least not yet. I have 6am meetings often and sometimes 5am too. It's brutal, I hate mornings. I do take those from home though, so it's not a huge effort to get up, make a cup of tea and get dressed. I set my alarm 30 minutes ahead of the meeting and I'm as awake as I'll be for the next 4 hours when the day starts. My colleagues in North America often joke about working in their pajamas but I ALWAYS get dressed, no exceptions.

Hope your extra effort pays off.

    1. He is a tired pup and tells it for me. :)

I mostly take early meetings from home too but that week was brutal with two very early in the office mornings, 6 and 5:45 a.m. yuck. I'll confess there are times when I set my alarm for only 5 minutes before the calls if I'm taking them from home.

Well the extra effort paid off for one project, we'll see about the second one, still in the throes of that and could be ongoing for months.

  4. What a cute sweater!! Looks great with the leopard flats. Sorry to hear work has been rough lately! I hope you are at least getting paid overtime? 1 a.m. seems extreme!

    1. Hi Louise, and thanks! Nope, no overtime for exempt employees :( that 1 a.m. was no fun at all. Weird I can be up until 1 with not much difficulty but working until 1 a.m. wore me out to the point of feeling a sore throat coming on, thought I'd wake up to a cold but thank goodness I did not.

    1. Isn't he adorable? I try to keep a balance and not do those things too often but every so often duty calls and my sense of responsibility won't let me ignore them. :(

  6. That's fun. I haven't ordered ModCloth before, but I'm sure I will someday. Their items sell so fast. Remember to take your zinc!

    1. Their stuff do sell fast, I was lucky to get this one. My way to recover is to eat a lot of vegetables and sleep, sleep, sleep! Thanks, gigi. :)

  7. I like it. I bought a doggie sweater from GAP recently. Looking forward to wearing it this fall.
