Jean Shop Jeans

Way back in April, I first wore a pair of Jean Shop jeans.

These are exactly the same jeans 3.5 months later.

I've always had a thing for selvedge denim.

I love that each pair is made in New York and has a birth date.

And I like the idea of creating authenic wear and tear as opposed to

the ready distressing that never seems to "fit" me.

The first time I put on the size 25 Jean Shop jeans,

I thought they'd be returned for certain for being much too tight.

I called them sausage casings for my legs. 

(For reference, I take either 24 or 25 in J.Crew jeans but I've had some I couldn't get past my

knees and some that were much too baggy. I wear 00 capris or 0 petite full length J.Crew pants.)

I could get them on but I could barely get zipped in.

And I wondered if I'd be permanently debossed

with the markings of a pair of denim jeans.

However, after reading this, I gave them another chance.

And I'm so glad I did because they did stretch to be comfortable.

(I did some extra tugging at the waist band to loosen it.)

As for the length, they are long.

I am 5'2" and have them cuffed thrice.

I think the Jean Shop size 25 fits similar to J.Crew size 24.

The fit is between a toothpick and matchstick,

maybe closer to toothpick. 

After a bit of wear, the Jean Shop jeans conform to your body.

J.Crew jeans never seem to fit around the waist.

Almost always I have a significant gap around the waist band

that I've been conditioned to accept.

And I prefer unconditional love.

I should have warned you to wear shades for this post.

The lovely Tweed and Toile received a few barbs

when she wore orange and red together to work.

So what about orange and hot pink?

Would you wear this combination?

Or should the question be would you wear a large question mark?

Completely sequined no less.

As for the the café capri in ultra eyelet, I love, love, love them.

Eyelet is pretty and feminine without being lacey dressy.

And the perfect fabric for keeping fresh and cool.

It's in one of my most favorite colors.

The cut is comfortably slender.

The length is good with heels or flats.

A graphic tee or floral cami or chambray shirt or linen sweater

and maybe with a cardi or blazer or denim jacket

could make it appropriate for most any occasion.

The only thing slightly annoying and worrisome ...

my pinky has an inadvertent tendency to poke through

the openings of the cutout pattern.

I hope I'm not going fast should something latch on as I'm going by.

Tee for Tuesday

How can anyone resist this tee I've "borrowed" from Crewcuts? According to fashion dos and don'ts, I'm way past the appropriate age to wear cutesy things BUT! Love the expression on her face, her windblown umbrella, the rhinestone buttons of her coat and (almost my favorite detail) the glitter raindrops! I can't help it. I'm attracted to sparkly, shiny, glittery things like moths to a flame ...

This one is more subtle. Takes in the rage for stripes. I like the appliqued letters.

And this is one of my very favorites. Nothing sparkly on this one except if you imagine the stars.

I have a place in my heart for anything reminding me of Paris.
