What ?! Ashbury !

As soon as I saw the Ashbury print, every item with the print went on the secret shopping list in my mind. But I figured my size would stand a good chance selling out before the things went to sale. Because it seems my size is always the first to go.

Imagine my surprise to find the skirt and the dress sale priced!!! Already! And all sizes intact.

But! Final Sale. :(

Seems to me, didn't the Ashbury just get launched? What do you think? Are there other surprises?

  1. Seems J.Crew is pricing a lot of things too high when first released since almost everything gets marked down and some things go to sale pretty fast. Final sale on the first markdown is nasty though.

  2. When I see something like this,I always wonder what they have learned about the item(s) that they're not telling us.

  3. A few other brand new things went on sale today, too. I don't get it! I want the skirt badly but not on final sale :(

  4. The Ashbury Jules dress has been in stores since December, so it's not that unexpected.

  6. This kind of thing makes me feel like a sucker for ever paying full price for J Crew!

  7. xoxo - I agree with you. Some things are launched with too high of a price point.

  8. WFF - yep, me too. Remember the knit dress that gave you extra hips from a few months ago? But every so often, I get something and think wow, this is really a nice deal. The most recent example was that silk pleat skirt in crimson floral.

  9. J.CrewJD - I got so excited by the Ashbury I didn't even search for more but you're right, the waterfloral skirt and pants, gimlet skirt in stripes, stripe turtleneck dress ....

  10. Rose - I don't shop at the stores so I didn't realize it's been out that long. And you're right, this isn't the first time things go to sale that quickly.

  11. rynetta PhD - aren't you?! Guess I assumed those things would go quickly since the Ashbury is such a beautiful print and those items are silk too.

  12. Sue - it kinda does, doesn't it? But! There might be something said about folks who get what they want and be done with it. I have a feeling I end up spending a lot more while I'm hunting for bargains.

  13. I find it upsetting that things go to final sale so quickly! It prevents me from even trying things I'm interested in, arrrgh!

  14. Dani, you are not close to a store where you can try things right? That makes this more annoying. They just added the Ashbury perfect shirt to final sale ...

  15. Well, the Ashbury pleated skirt, which I was interested in, never made it to the stores. I find it annoying to waste shipping on an item that I can tell is all wrong within minutes of removing it from the packaging. The dress and the shirt made it to the stores, why not the skirt???

  16. :)Jen - it may be because the skirt is pleated and the pleats are stitched together at the hem until you are ready to wear the skirt, I'm guessing. I went ahead and ordered it because I love the print. I like it and am looking forward to wearing it when it warms up a little more.
